Description
Up for grabs is an uncommon Rolex Day-Date, Ref. 18038, which was transitional from the Reference 1803, introducing the “single quick-set” function, which allows the owner to quickly just the date via the crown. This example dates to 1987, and is fitted with a rare Birch “wood” dial. Further, this watch comes complete as a super full-set, maintaining its original Rolex leather “Presidential” box and “punched” Warranty Certificate, showing the original date of sale to 1987 in Italy.
The condition of this Rolex Day-Date is great. The case has been lightly detailed in the past, remaining sharp and thick. The dial is likewise in great condition, with no cracks or flaws to the lacquered finish atop the wood-grain dial.
The watch comes on its original hidden-clasp 18kt Rolex Swiss bracelet, with light stretch, and will fit an approximate 7.25″ wrist (five removable screws).
