Description
Up for grabs is an incredible Rolex “Double Red” Seadweller, circa 1971. This example has a “Mark II” (MK2) dial. These watches were designed for diving under extreme depths, and were thus fitted with a helium escape valve on the left-hand side of the case, which was used to release pressure as it built up under water.
This example is in excellent vintage condition. The case has been polished in the past, with nicely defined beveled edges, and retaining thick and even lugs. The dial is lovely, with no wear, marks, scratches, etc, and has aged to a lovely tropical brown color. The original tritium lume is still present on both hands and dial, aged to a nice yellow.
Further, the watch is fitted on a Rolex Oyster folded-link 9315 bracelet with 580 endlinks, and has 10 full links with some stretch.
