Rolex “6265 Black-Dial 18kt” Daytona

Offered here is a lovely and crisp example of Rolex Daytona, Ref. 6265, circa 1986, produced in 18kt Yellow Gold.  During this era, very few Daytonas were produced in gold, most being fitted in a steel case. In fact, allegedly less than 10% of the 24,000 of 6263 and 6265 watches for the 20 year period of their production run were made in gold.  This example is outfitted with a popular black dial.

The condition of this Daytona is great. The case does not show any obvious signs of polishing, with thick and even lugs and remaining very sharp. The dial is in perfect condition, with absolutely no wear or damage, showing some minor aging to the registers. The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, and in excellent condition, with no loss, and big and puffy yellow plots.  The watch comes fitted on a Rolex Swiss Rivet bracelet with 57 endlinks, and has 13 full links and no stretch.
