Up for grabs is an extremely rare Audemars Piguet from the 1950s, with a rare “stop seconds” complication, given the reference 5051. Produced in very limited quantities (less than 20 or so known), Audemars Piguet produced this watch in 36mm yellow or rose gold cases, and with a smooth or honeycomb dial. At 9 o’clock, the watch features a small pusher that when engaged, stops the seconds hand from counting, in order to precisely time the start of an event. This Audemars Piguet Stop-Seconds watch is in great vintage condition, with a lovely and thick case, likely lightly polished in the past, and a beautiful dial with only very minor wear/aging, and overall extremely well-preserved for its age.
