Description
Up for grabs is a very nice example of the iconic Universal Geneve Polerouter, circa 1950s, featuring a Gerald Genta-designed case with twisted lugs, and UG’s microrotor movement. This particular example was produced under the “De Luxe” line, which was Universal Geneve’s “high end” offerings at the time; this Polerouter was produced in 18kt yellow gold, and fit with a popular black, “gilt” dial.
This Universal Geneve Polerouter is in excellent vintage condition. The twisted lugs case does not appear to have been polished, with normal wear from use, and crisp numbers on the back. The original gilt dial presents very well, still glossy, with an even patina set in throughout, visible under a loupe.
