Patek Philippe “570J” Calatrava

Up for grabs is a beautiful and honest early Patek Philippe Calatrava, reference 570, circa 1950s, housed in an 18kt yellow gold case.  The reference 570 is a very popular reference amongst collectors for its larger (than Patek standards) case size and long lugs, giving it a nice presence on the wrist.  According to the Extract of the Archives included, this watch was produced in 1957 and subsequently sold in 1958.

The condition of this Patek Philippe Calatrava is great, overall very well-preserved.  The case does not show any signs of polishing, with a sharp case and strong hallmarks under the lugs; the outside of the caseback shows some light wear, and can be detailed upon request. The dial is unrestored with a strong raised enamel signature, and shows minimal honest wear throughout, with some more visible aging below the hands.
