Up for grabs is a Tudor “Snowflake” Submariner, circa 1980, reference 94110. Tudor is better known as the “sister” brand to Rolex – originally formed as a more affordable alternative to that of a Rolex. In recent years, Tudor has exploded in popularity amongst collectors, with prices often eclipsing those of their Rolex counterparts. This example is a highly sought-after “Snowflake” Submariner, so-called for the snowflake-like appearance of the hour hand.
This Tudor Submariner is in very nice vintage condition. The case has been polished in the past, but retains thick and even lugs. The dial is in excellent condition, with no flaws, chips, etc. The original tritium lume is present in both hands and dial, aged to a lovely and vibrant yellow color; hands have been stabilized in the past, as is the case for 98% of these Snowflakes, due to the large width of the hands. Further, the original and correct blue bezel insert is virtually wear-free.
Finally, the watch comes on a Rolex Oyster folded-link 9315 bracelet with 380 endlinks, and has 10 full links with light stretch.
