Up for grabs is a lovely and early example of the popular “Root Beer” Rolex GMT-Master, in two-tone steel and 18kt yellow gold, circa 1970. This example features the so-called “nipple” dial, due to the smaller hour markers, and is the early and desirable “matte” brown variant. This Rolex GMT-Master is in great condition. The case appears unpolished, with nice original beveled edges, and normal wear. The dial is gorgeous, with no major wear. The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a beautiful yellow/orange color. The watch comes fitted on a newer-style Rolex Swiss 62523 Jubilee Two-Tone band (with 455 endlinks), with moderate stretch.
