Offered here is a nice example of the so-called “transitional” Submariner, the Reference 16800, which was Rolex’s follow-up to the Reference 1680. The 16800 introduced the quick-set function to the Submariner and featured their new Caliber 3035 movement.
The present example dates to 1982 (7.4m), and is in great vintage condition. The case has been polished in the past, but the lugs are still thick and even. The dial is pristine, with not a blemish in sight. The original tritium lume is present on both hands and dial, aged to a nice creamy color. The watch comes on a 93150/580 bracelet, in excellent condition with no stretch, and 12 full links.
