Description
Up for grabs is a rare and beautiful Tudor “Monte Carlo” Chronograph, circa 1972. The younger brother to the Daytona, the Monte Carlo was Tudor’s answer to a more affordable chronograph to their Rolex counterpart, and came in a variety of dial and bezel variations. Tudor recently released a Heritage Edition model based on this reference. This particular example comes in its most desirable iteration: a blue, bakelite bezel with matching grey/blue dial.
This Tudor Monte Carlo is in great vintage condition. The case has likely been polished in the past, but shows thick and even lugs and the original definition of the beveled edges visible in the lugs. The dial is perfect, with no flaws. Likewise, the original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow color. The watch comes fitted on a Rolex Oyster folded-link 78360 bracelet with 380 endlinks, dated to 1972, and has 13 full links with light stretch.
