SOLD
Description
Offered here is an incredibly beautiful example of the so-called “transitional” Submariner, the Reference 16800, which was Rolex’s follow-up to the Reference 1680. The 16800 introduced the quick-set function to the Submariner and featured their new Caliber 3035 movement.
The present example dates to 1982 (7.4m), and is in excellent condition. The case has been lightly polished, but the case remains thick and has nice and sharp edges. The dial is pristine, with not a blemish in sight. The original tritium lume is present on dial, aged to a nice yellow color, with original tritium hands, which are a tad lighter (albeit original). The watch comes on a Rolex 93150/593 bracelet, in excellent condition with minimal stretch, and 12 full links.
