Patek Phillipe "Beta 21"

SOLD

Patek Phillipe “Beta 21”

SOLD

Description

Offered here is a rare Patek Phillipe, circa 1970s, during what is now known of as the “quartz crisis”.  Only 6000 Beta 21 movements were made, split amongst other brands, such as Rolex and Piaget.  This design deviated from Patek’s usual dressed-down elegance – the watch is a staggering 43mm, and wears like a modern, contemporary watch on the wrist.  For more reading on these iconic watches, visit Hodinkee’s write up here.

This Patek Phillipe Beta 21 is in excellent condition.  The gold case and bracelet show little to no wear whatsoever. The blue, sunburst dial is in great condition, with only light wear to the paint surrounding the applied registers.  The original tritium lume is still present on both dial marker and hands, aged to an attractive yellow patina.
