Patek Philippe “2488 Inter Milan” Square Watch

Up for grabs is a stunning and rare Patek Philippe square watch, given the reference 2488, and produced in 1957 (according to the Extract of the Archives). The reference 2488 was made from approximately 1951 to 1960, and was produced in square, Art-Deco case, powered by a manual-wind movement. This particular 2488 was housed in 18kt white gold, and fit with a factory diamond dial, and noticeably, retailed by the famous Milan-based retailer, Gobbi Milano. Interestingly enough, the watch was engraved on the back “With affection, Massimo and Milly”. The Massimo and Milly were none other than the Morattis – the owners at the time of the extremely famous football club, Inter Milan. The condition of this rare Patek Philippe is great – lightly polished with still visible hallmarks, and an original, untouched dial, showing honest and natural aging.
