Description
Up for grabs is the immensely popular Reference A386 Zenith El Primero chronograph. According to the in-depth research done over at Alpha Hands, who provide an amazing reference guide for the A386, we know that only 2,500 examples of the A386 reference were produced during this time, between 1969 and 1971. Featuring a tri-color dial and straight-lug case, this watch is a true classic, which is why Zenith reissued it several years back. This particular example has a serial of 861xxxx, making it a 3rd execution (MK3).
This Zenith El Primero is in excellent condition. The case is sharp with original beveled edges, likely lightly polished in the past. The dial is free of any flaws. The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow.
This watch features its original “ladder” Zenith-signed, Gay Freres bracelet, dated 4th quarter of 1970, and is with the correct “ZJ” endlinks. The band itself remains in excellent condition, with virtually no stretch.
