Up for grabs is a Tudor “Snowflake” Submariner, circa 1980, the “no-date” Reference 94010. Tudor is better known as the “sister” brand to Rolex – originally formed as a more affordable alternative to that of a Rolex. In recent years, Tudor has exploded in popularity amongst collectors, with prices often eclipsing those of their Rolex counterparts. This example is a highly sought-after “Snowflake” Submariner, so-called for the snowflake-like appearance of the hour hand, and the fact that it does not have a “date” function, giving the dial a clean look.
This Tudor Submariner is in good vintage condition. The case has been previously polished, but with thick and even lugs. The dial is in great condition, with no flaws visible. The original tritium lume is present on the dial and hands, aged to a pale yellow color. Further, the original bezel insert has begun to fade a nice navy blue/grey color.
