Description
Up for grabs is a rare Tudor “Big Block Monte Carlo” chronograph, circa 1978. Tudor’s first Big Block watches were the 9400 series; the Reference 9430 is fitted with a steel bezel. This example also features a so-called “exotic” dial, with a grey backdrop, contrasted against orange and black color in the chapter ring and registers.
The condition of this Tudor Big Block Monte Carlo is excellent. The case appears lightly polished, with sharp lines and original beveled edges visible. The dial is in mint condition, with no wear or marks. Further, the original tritium lume is still all-present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow. Finally, the watch is fitted on its original Rolex Oyster folded-link 9315 bracelet, with 380 endlinks, and has 11 full links and light stretch.
