SOLD
Description
Up for grabs is a Tudor “Snowflake” Submariner, circa 1980, reference 9411/0. Tudor is better known as the “sister” brand to Rolex – originally formed as a more affordable alternative to that of a Rolex. In recent years, Tudor has exploded in popularity amongst collectors, with prices often eclipsing those of their Rolex counterparts. This example is a highly sought-after “Snowflake” Submariner, so-called for the snowflake-like appearance of the hour hand.
This Tudor Submariner is in great vintage condition. The case appears unpolished, with sharp and well defined beveled edges. The dial is in excellent condition, with no flaws, chips, etc. The original tritium lume is present in both hands and dial, aged to a lovely and vibrant yellow color; the hands, as is customary on the model, have been stabilized to prevent the lume from cracking.
Finally, the watch comes on a Rolex folded-link 7836/380 bracelet, and has 12 full links with light stretch.
