Description
Up for grabs is a rare and beautiful Tudor “Monte Carlo” Chronograph, circa 1976. The younger brother to the Daytona, the Monte Carlo was Tudor’s answer to a more affordable chronograph to their Rolex counterpart, and came in a variety of dial and bezel variations. Tudor recently released a Heritage Edition model based on this reference. This particular example features an exotic-style dial, grey with contrasting black registers and splashes of orange and brown accents throughout, and is fitted with a black rotating bezel.
This Tudor Monte Carlo is in great vintage condition. The case has likely been lightly polished in the past, but shows thick and even lugs and still has the original definition of the beveled edges visible in the lugs. The dial is perfect, with no flaws. Likewise, the original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow color. The watch comes fitted on a Rolex Oyster 93150 bracelet with 501B endlinks, and has 12 full links with no stretch.
