Description
Up for grabs is a lovely example of the popular “Root Beer” Rolex GMT-Master, in two-tone steel and 18kt yellow gold, circa 1978. This example features the so-called “nipple” and “tiger’s eye” dial, due to the smaller hour markers and the dial’s sunburst color, similar to that of the gemstone by the same name (tiger eye). This Rolex GMT-Master is in great condition. The case appears unpolished (or if it was polished, it was done lightly), with nice original beveled edges, and normal wear. The dial is gorgeous, with no wear/damage, with all its factory gloss in tact. The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a beautiful dark yellow/orange color. The watch comes fitted on a Rolex USA Jubilee Two-Tone band, with stretch consistent with jubilee bands.
