Up for grabs is a stunning example of a Rolex Submariner, Reference 5513, circa 1978 (5.9m serial). This example features a very desirable 1st execution (MK1) “Maxi” dial, denoting the larger size of the lume plots, as compared to the Submariner’s predecessors. Further, this watch comes complete with its original Rolex box, Warranty Certificate (showing the original date of sale to February 27, 1978, from a jeweler in Brazil), Rolex anchor, and booklets
This Rolex Submariner is in great vintage condition. The case appears has been polished in the past, but retains thick and even lugs, with nicely beveled edges. The dial is immaculate, with no chips, scratches, or flaws. The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a nice creamy yellow color. The fat-font bezel insert is period correct to this reference, and is in good condition, with no major wear, and aged to a nice and even fade.
The watch comes equipped with a flip-lock 93150 bracelet with 580 endlinks, and is in good condition with 11 full links and almost no stretch.
