Description
Up for grabs is a rare Rolex Oyster Chronograph, nicknamed as part of the “Pre-Daytonas”, due to its production before the famous Daytona line. This Rolex Chronograph, the Reference 6234, was produced between 1954 to 1961, preceding the Reference 6238. This one dates to 1959, and has the popular 3-color layout, with outer tracks in black and blue against a white dial.
This Rolex Chronograph is in excellent vintage condition. The case does not appear polished, with thick lugs and beveled edges, and still shows “stainless steel” visible on the caseback. The dial is very attractive, with no major wear, and only very light aging. The original radium lume is present in both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow color. The watch comes fitted a straight endlink Rolex stretch-rivet bracelet, dated to 1953.
