Description
This is a very rare example of a Rolex Day-Date in 18kt yellow gold circa 1966, with a silver dial, bearing the reference 1807, which was a specific reference of Day-Date for the “bark” finish cases. However, what sets this particular Day-Date apart is the fact that it was co-signed for the Texas-based retailer “Linz”, a storied jewelry outfit founded in 1877, and retailer of Rolex products during the 1950-1970 era.
The condition of this rare Day-Date is well-preserved. The case remains with thick and even lugs, lightly polished in the past. The dial is extremely mint, with not a blemish visible. The tritium lume is present in both dial and hands, aged to a creamy yellow color, with puffy, full plots. The watch comes on its original Rolex Swiss Oyster bracelet, dated to 1966, and appears full-linked with light stretch.
