Description
Up for grabs is a stunning and early example of a Rolex Datejust, Ref. 1603, circa 1967. This Datejust features a fluted bezel, and a black, gilt dial, with applied steel markers, oversized at the 6 and 9 o’clock marks, giving the dial and balanced and classy look. The condition of this Rolex Datejust is very nice. The case shows signs of polishing, but has thick and even lugs. The dial is in good condition, still glossy, with light wear; further, the right side of the dial has aged “tropical”, with a clear brown color setting in. Further, the original tritium lume is present in both dial and hands, aged to a pale yellow, with only minor loss to some of the plots on the dial. The watch comes equipped with a Rolex Oyster folded-link 7836/380 bracelet, dated to 1972, with 12 full links and medium stretch.
