Description
Up for grabs is an incredibly beautiful example of a Rolex GMT-Master with a glossy gilt dial, circa 1965, reference 1675, that we have seen in quite some time. This example is the last gilt dial Rolex produced before transitioning to the matte dial in/around 1967.
This Rolex GMT-Master is in amazing vintage condition. The case remains unpolished, with factory original beveled edges and a thick and even case. The dial is beautiful – still very glossy, with a mirror-like finish, and virtually no visble wear. Additionally, the dial has a lovely tropical brown hue to it, subtle yet distinct under light. The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow color. The original and period-correct fat-font “Pepsi” bezel insert is in nice condition, with a nice fade set in to the colors. Further, the watch comes equipped on a Rolex C&I Rivet bracelet, dated to the watch, and has 12 full links, with no stretch.
