SOLD
Description
Up for grabs is an uncommon Rolex Day-Date, Ref. 18038, which was transitional from the Reference 1803, introducing the “single quick-set” function, which allows the owner to quickly just the date via the crown. This example dates to 1979, and is fitted with a rare “Lapis Lazuli” stone dial. Further, the watch comes with its original Rolex box (missing the inner cushion), “punched” Warranty Certificate (original date of sale in Beverly Hills, California, in 1980), booklets, and RSC paperwork from 1991 (service invoice, receipt, and warranty).
The condition of this Rolex Day-Date is great. The case has been polished in the past, but lightly and done well, retaining thick and even lugs. The Lapis stone dial is in perfect condition, with no flaws or cracks, and a beautiful inclusion of the stone on the left side of the dial.
The watch comes on its original hidden-clasp 18kt Rolex Swiss bracelet, with no stretch, and will fit an approximate 7.25.-7.5″ wrist (fiveremovable screws).
