Rolex “Full-Set 16570 Van Cleef & Arpels” Explorer II

When it comes to vintage Rolex, there are a lot of “rare” watches out there.  However, the watch offered here today is on another planet entirely – in fact, it is the only Explorer possibly left in existence of its kind.  Offered here is a Rolex Explorer II, reference 16570, produced circa 1993.  However, what sets this Explorer apart is the fact that it was retailed…no, not by Tiffany & Co…but, by the illustrious jeweler, Van Cleef & Arpels!  To top it off, the watch comes with its original Rolex box, Warranty Certificate (showing the date of sale in 1995 by Van Cleef), and matching VCA-stamped bracelet.

As if this watch was not rare enough, the condition of this Van Cleef Explorer happens also to be in excellent condition.  The case appears unpolished, with original beveled edges, showing some normal wear from use.  The dial and tritium lume remain in perfect condition, with no flaws.  Lastly, the watch remains on its original Rolex Oyster 78360 bracelet with 501B endlinks, and has 13 full links and no stretch.

The “once in a lifetime” phrase certainly applies here – it is unlikely we will find another of these!
