SOLD
Description
Offered here is a lovely example of Rolex Daytona, Ref. 6263, circa 1972, produced in 14kt Yellow Gold. During this era, very few Daytonas were produced in gold, most being fitted in a steel case. In fact, allegedly less than 10% of the 24,000 of 6263 and 6265 watches for the 20 year period of their production run were made in gold.
The condition of this Daytona is great. The case has been lightly polished in the past, with thick and even lugs. The dial is in beautiful condition, with absolutely no wear or damage. The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, and in good condition, aged to a nice yellow color. The original bakelite bezel shows no cracks.
Further, the watch comes fitted on a Rolex 14kt Jubilee made for the American market, showing normal wear/stretch for a jubilee band from this era (however, no links or endlinks are damaged), and will fit an approximate 7.5″ wrist.
