SOLD
Description
Offered here is a very early example of Rolex Daytona, Ref. 6239 (circa 1964; 1.0m serial), with a lovely “panda” dial (white with black registers). This particular example features a “small Daytona” dial, due to the under-sized printing of the word “Daytona”, and “-T Swiss T-” at the bottom, which was only used on early Daytonas.
This Daytona is in great vintage condition. The case has been previously polished, but lightly, with thick and even lugs. The dial is in beautiful condition, with very light wear (a few small marks towards the center of the dial, visible with a loupe). The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, with minor loss to the 3 and 9 o’clock plots, which is very common for Daytonas.
The watch comes equipped on its original Rolex American C&I Stretch Rivet bracelet, dated to 1967. The bracelet has 12 full links and no stretch.
