Description
Up for grabs is an exceptional and rare Rolex Turn-O-Graph, reference 6202, circa 1953. The Turn-O-Graph has achieved legendary status in the vintage Rolex world as the pre-cursor to the mighty Submariner, and the first watch to feature a rotating bezel by the brand. Clearly the design influence for the Submariner, the Turn-O-Graph was produced with a similar waterproof case for diving, and made in a smaller size, coming in at 36mm. This particular Turn-O-Graph has an original gilt dial, with matching early bezel insert, before Rolex incorporated the “red triangle” at 12 o’clock.
This particular Rolex Turn-O-Graph is in excellent vintage condition. The case appears unpolished, with normal wear, still reading “Modele Depose” on the caseback. The dial is very well-preserved, with no chips or scratches, and a light spotting/even patina set in. Likewise, the original radium lume is still present and in-tact on both dial and hands, aged to a nice and vibrant yellow color. The original bezel insert is in similar excellent condition, with minimal wear.
The watch is fitted on a later Rolex Jubilee bracelet, dated to 1965, and will fit an approximate 7.25″ wrist with light stretch.
