SOLD
Description
Up for grabs is a lovely “meters first” Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513, circa 1967 (1.6m serial). The “meters first” dials were the very first Rolex Submariner models to feature a “matte” dial, and are considered transitional from gilt to matte, with a limited production of around 3-4 years.
This Rolex Submariner is in great vintage condition. The case has been previously polished, but the lugs remain thick and even, with lovely beveled edges, mimicking factory original bevels. The dial is flawless, with no chips, scratches, tool marks, etc. The original tritium lume is present on the dial and hands, aged to a nice yellow color. The original fat font and “Long 5” insert is in good condition with virtually no wear, and aged to a lovely faded grey color.
The watch is fitted on a Rolex Swiss rivet 7206 bracelet with 58 endlinks, dated to 1966, and has 12 full links with no stretch.
