SOLD
Description
Up for grabs is a stunning Rolex Submariner, housed in 18kt yellow gold, produced circa 1971. These 18kt Submariner were made with either blue or black “nipple” dials (and matching colored inserts), with the blue variants being more desirable and sought after. What makes this Submariner even cooler, is the fact that the original blue dial has aged in such a way that the color changes from blue to purple, depending on the angle you look at it, which is a result of the aging of the paint and lacquer used on these batch of dials.
The condition on this Rolex Submariner is incredible. The case is unpolished and sharp, with original beveled edges still visible. The dial is perfect, with not a blemish in sight, and still retaining its factory gloss. Likewise, the original tritium is still present on both dial and hands, aged to a pale yellow color. The watch still retains its factory blue fat-font bezel insert, with no major wear.
This is a true collector’s grade gold Submariner, and very difficult to find in this condition!
