Up for grabs is an attractive example of the popular Rolex “Red Sub” Submariner, Reference 1680. Bearing a serial of 2.9 million, this watch dates the watch to 1971, and has a later “feet first” “MK4” dial.
The watch itself is in great condition. The case shows thick and even lugs, with original beveled edges still visible, and does not show signs of overpolishing (or if any at all), but does show wear from use. The dial is beautiful, with no chips, scratches, marks, etc. The original tritium lume is still present in the dial and hands, aged to a nice and vibrant yellow color. Further, the original MK3 bezel insert has aged to a unique and natural faded navy blue color. The watch comes on a Rolex folded-link 9315 bracelet with 380 endlinks, and has 10 full links with light stretch.
