SOLD
Description
Offered here is an excellent time-capsule example of a Patek Philippe “Jumbo” Nautilus, the Reference 3700/1, circa 1978, co-signed and sold by the famous Swiss retailer, Gubelin. These watches are considered by many to be the best design of Gerald Genta. This Patek Phillipe Nautilus is in great vintage condition. The case appears lightly polished in the past, retaining nicely defined bevels in the mid case/lugs. The dial is in nice, superb condition, with virtually no peeling whatsoever. The original tritium lume is present on the dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow. The bracelet is likewise in great condition, and will fit an approximate 7.5″ wrist.
However, what sets this example apart from the pack is what comes with it! The watch remains preserved with its original Patek Philippe box, Gubelin Certificate of Origin (showing the original date of sale in September of 1978), matching Gubelin 1978 sales receipt, Export paperwork (the original purchaser importing the watch back to Florida), and various booklets.
