Offered here is an extremely rare Nivada Grenchen Depthomatic Diver, circa 1950s. These watches were designed for high-pressure under water diving, and were built with a special plastic crystal notched to allow water to access a chamber and give a rating up to 200M. The inner dial features an arabic numeral layout, glossed over in radium lume plots for visibility, and matching mercedes-style radium hands. Housed in a 38mm steel three-piece case, these watches were highly innovative and contemporary for the era.
This Nivada Grenchen Depthomatic is in excellent condition. The case is unpolished and sharp, with almost no wear. The black bezel has one small crack between 55 and 5. The dial is mint condition with no flaws, and the original radium lume has aged to a golden yellow, with no loss whatsoever.
