Jaeger LeCoultre “E859” Polaris

Description

Up for grabs is a stunning and rare 1960s Jaeger LeCoultre Polaris diver’s alarm watch, reference E859.  The Polaris the world’s first diver’s watch with automatic alarm and date display, and was produced over a short span of approximately 1714 pieces.  This particular Jaeger LeCoultre Polaris is in great vintage condition.  The case is unpolished and sharp, with appropriate wear and use for a diver of this era.  The dial is very well-preserved, with minimal wear, and developing a lovely tropical brown color on the outer disk (where the markers are located).  Further, the original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands (with minor loss to the minute hand), aged to a pale yellow color.
