Description
Offered here is an excellent example of the rare Heuer Autavia, Reference 3646, nicknamed the “Andretti”, due to its association/being worn with the famous race car driver, Mario Andretti.. These Autavias, housed in steel, screwback cases, were produced in the 1960s, and were powered by the Valjoux 92 movement. This example bears the serial 96xxx.
This Heuer Autavia is in great condition. The case is unpolished, with beautifully beveled lugs. The dial is perfect, with no flaws, scratches, chips, etc. The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow, with no loss to any of the markers or hands.
