This is a very rare Doxa Chronograph housed in an over-sized “spillman” case, as defined by their faceted lugs, and waterproof screwback caseback. These waterproof cases were used by a variety of brands in the 1940s, such as Universal Geneve and Bovet to name a couple, and are immensely popular due to their large size and interesting dial configurations. This particular example is fitted with a breathtaking salmon two-tone dial.

This Doxa chronograph is in superb vintage condition. The case does not appear polished, and if it ever was, it was polished lightly. The dial is stunning, with no noticeable damage or wear. Further, the watch retains its original radium lume on both dial and hands, aged to a golden orange color. Finally, the watch also features a well-crafted engraving on the back of a previous owner, adding to the provenance of the piece.
