Offered here is a rare Breitling Co-Pilot chronograph, nicknamed the “Jean Claude Killy”, as the famous skiier was known to where this exact model when he won the gold in all three Alpine skiing events at the 1968 Olympics in Grenoble. These watches, intended for use by pilots, were considered extremely large for the era, and have become a staple in the Breitling collector’s arsenal. Additionally, the present example stands out due to the fact that it has been co-signed by the French manufacturer, LIP, for retail specifically by them in the 1960s.
This Breitling Co-Pilot is in excellent vintage condition. The case is unpolished and very sharp, with original beveled edges. The dial is in perfect condition, with no wear or damage. Likewise, the original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a light yellow hue.
