Bovet "Two-Tone Spillmann" Chronograph

SOLD

Bovet “Two-Tone Spillmann” Chronograph

SOLD

Description

This is a very rare Bovet Chronograph housed in an over-sized “spillman” case, as defined by their faceted lugs, and waterproof screwback caseback.  These waterproof cases were used by a variety of brands in the 1940s, such as Universal Geneve and Bovet to name a couple, and are immensely popular due to their large size and interesting dial configurations.  This particular example is fitted with a breathtaking gilt, grey two-tone dial.

This Bovet chronograph is in superb vintage condition.  The case does not appear polished, and if it ever was, it was polished lightly.  The dial is stunning, with no noticeable damage or wear.
