Audemars Piguet “Full-Set Tuscan 25686SP” Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar

Offered here is an absolutely breathtaking Audemars Piguet Royal Oak perpetual calendar, produced circa 1994, bearing the reference 25686SP.  The reference 25686 was produced as a successor to the 25654, and was made in a total of 299 pieces across all metals.  The reference 25686 was still yet produced without the leap year function (which is favored by collectors for its cleaner look), which would come later in the reference 25820. Of the 299 pieces made, AP produced a limited and numbered run of 25 pieces in stainless steel and platinum.   However, what sets this Royal Oak perpetual apart from the rest is the fitment of a hammered blue dial — dubbed the “Tuscan” dial.  Very few Royal Oaks were made with this special dial variant, and it was recently used as the inspiration for a modern iteration, designed by the legendary musician and noted watch enthusiast, Mr. John Mayer. Further, this watch comes complete, with its original Audemars Piguet Winder box and Certificate of Origin booklet, showing the original date of sale in December of 1994 in St. Barth.

The condition of this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak perpetual calendar is excellent. The case is sharp and crisp, with strong bevels.  Importantly, the dial shows minimal wear or aging; these dials have begun to age over time, and often show peeling. The bracelet is very long, and will accomodate a large wrist.

This is truly an exceptional watch, one of our absolute favorites of all-time!
