Audemars Piguet “6005SA” Square Royal Oak

In the late 1970s, Audemars Piguet threw their hat in the ring towards the impending “Quartz Crisis”.  Their answer was a sleek, square-shaped version of the famous Royal Oak, sharing similar design language and the bracelet of the Royal Oak, fit with a quartz Caliber 2511 movement.  Made in two different sizes, one for ladies and one jumbo-sized (the present reference 6005), these watches represent tremendous value when compared to their standard Royal Oak counterparts.  This particular 6005 was made in two-tone stainless steel and yellow gold, and paired with a grey dial.

The condition of this Audemars Piguet Square Royal Oak is excellent.  The case is razor sharp and unpolished, with clear and crisp serial numbers visible on the back.  Further, the dial shows no wear or aging. Finally, the watch appears fully-linked, fitting an approximate 7.5-7.6″ wrist.
