SOLD
Description
Up for grabs is a very well-preserved and attractive “meters first” Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513, circa 1968 (2.1m serial). The “meters first” dials were the very first Rolex Submariner models to feature a “matte” dial, and are considered transitional from gilt to matte, with a limited production of around 3-4 years. This example comes with its original Rolex box, Guarantee papers (written), and booklets.
This Rolex Submariner is in great vintage condition. The case has been polished in the past, with original beveled edges, and showing honest wear from use over the years. The dial is flawless, with no scratches, tool marks, etc. The original tritium lume is present on the dial and hands, aged to a nice pale yellow color. The original MK3 insert has uniquely aged to a navy hue faded appearance.
The watch is fitted on a Rolex Swiss folded-link 9315 bracelet with 380 endlinks, and has 11 full links with some stretch.
