Description
Up for grabs is a lovely example of the incredibly popular Rolex “Zenith” Daytona, so-called for its movement made by the brand, Zenith. Rolex introduced the automatic movement chronograph in 1987, using a movement manufactured by Zenith, as it was the industry’s only self-winding chronograph movement that met Rolex’s high quality standards. This particular example was produced early in their production in 1990, and fitted with an early and uncommon “Inverted 6” dial, as the 6 in the bottom register was erroneously flipped, appearing as a 9.
This Rolex Daytona is in great vintage condition. The case is unpolished and sharp, with light wear from use over the years. The dial is in mint condition, with no flaws or marks. Likewise, the original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a lovely yellow. The bezel shows no detail/color loss. The gold Rolex Oyster 78668 bracelet has 12 full links and no stretch.
