Vacheron Constantin "4178 Rose Gold" Chronograph

SOLD

Vacheron Constantin “4178 Rose Gold” Chronograph

SOLD

Description

Offered here is a stunning, elegant and rare Vacheron Constantin Chronograph, reference 4178, circa 1950s.  The reference 4178 was produced by Vacheron Constantin from 1940 through 1964, and during that time, only 280 pieces were produced in rose gold using the caliber 434 movement (VC also used a caliber 492 for this model).  The present example is one such rose gold watch, with silvered dial.

This Vacheron Constantin chronograph is in great vintage condition.  The case appears unpolished, remaining extremely well-preserved.  The original dial is in very attractive condition, with no major damage or marks, and a light patina from natural aging set in on the edge of the right side of the dial.

Further, the watch comes with its original and period-correct VC box, and is fitted on a VC leather strap with gold VC-signed buckle.
