Up for grabs is a stunning example of the immensely popular Universal Geneve Compax, the so-called “Nina Rindt”, due to the famous model (and wife to racecar driver Jochen Rindt) being photographed wearing this reference. This example is a 2nd execution, with a painted Universal Geneve logo. The watch comes equipped on an original UG steel Gay Freres bracelet, correct for this reference.
This Nina Rindt is in stunning condition, one of the best we have ever seen. The case is unpolished and blemish free. The dial is near-mint, with the registers aging to a tropical “brown” color. The original tritium lume is still present in both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow patina. The serial and reference numbers are still visible and clear on the very clean caseback; original “U” signed crystal.
