Up for grabs is one of the most desirable and undoubtedly rare Universal Geneve chronographs in existence – the so-called “Big Eye” Uni-Compax, circa 1960s. Less than 20 of these are known to exist, only coming to market a handful of times per year.
The watch is itself is in great condition. The case has never been polished, with thick and sharp edges. The reverse-panda dial is perfect, with no flaws. The lume on the dial has aged to a golden brown, and matching the handset. The serial numbers and “stainless steel” are still visible on the caseback. The chronograph hand is a generic replacement.
These watches do not come up for sale often, and when they do, they are snatched up rather quickly. This watch is the perfect combination of vintage “cool”, collectibility, and investment-grade material.
