Up for grabs is an uncommon Rolex Day-Date, Ref. 18038, which was transitional from the Reference 1803, introducing the “single quick-set” function, which allows the owner to quickly just the date via the crown. This example dates to 1985, and is fitted with a rare blue sunburst dial with gold print. Further, the watch comes complete with its large Rolex presidential box and “punched” Warranty Certificate.
The condition of this Rolex Day-Date is excellent. The case has been lightly polished in the past, retaining thick and even lugs, and appears sharp. The blue dial is perfect, with no damage whatsoever. Likewise, the original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, with nice and full plots.
The watch comes on its original hidden-clasp 18kt Rolex Swiss bracelet, with very light stretch, and will fit an approximate 6.75-7″ wrist (three removable screws).
