Rolex “Full-Set 16753” GMT-Master

SOLD

Description

Up for grabs is an incredible, like new example of the popular Rolex GMT-Master, in two-tone steel and yellow gold, circa 1984.  The transitional reference 16753 was an upgrade of the earlier reference 1675 with a new movement and quickset function, allowing the user to change the date with much greater ease.  This example features the so-called “nipple” dial, due to the smaller hour markers, and is applied on a black iridescent “sunburst” dial.  Further, this example comes complete with its original Rolex inner and outer boxes, Warranty Certificate (showing that it was sold at the Golden Nugget casino in Las Vegas in 1984, hangtag (with serial), and accessories (booklets, etc).

The Rolex GMT-Master offered here is in excellent vintage condition.  The case is unpolished and razor sharp, with virtually no wear, seemingly very seldom worn, with the original caseback sticker still visible.  The dial is gorgeous, with no chips or scratches, and shows one small blemish to the left of the post, where the hour hand stood still for too long and reacted with the tritium (tritium burn, if you will). The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a strong and vibrant yellow color. The watch comes fitted on a Rolex Swiss Jubilee 62523H bracelet with 50/450 endlinks/endpieces, and has no stretch.
