Rolex “Buckley-Dial Two-Tone Full-Set” Datejust

SOLD

Description

Offered here is a Rolex Datejust, Reference 1601, circa 1972, with the popular “Buckley” dial, featuring a painted roman numeral layout.  This particular example is housed in a two-tone steel and gold case.  Additionally, this particular watch comes as a very complete set, with its original Rolex Box, “punched” Guarantee Certificate, original sales invoice from Argentina, calendar card, and other booklets/accessories (as pictured).  This Rolex Datejust example is in excellent condition.  The case is unpolished and very sharp, with remnants of the original caseback sticker still visible on the back.  The dial is flawless, with no wear.  Likewise, the original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, with no loss, aged to a light yellow on the dial, and a darker orange on the hands, but perfectly matching when exposed to UV light.  The watch comes fitted on a Rolex Swiss 6252H Jubilee band, with 255 endlinks, and is fully linked with virtually no stretch.
