Rolex “168000” Submariner

Description

Only produced for a very short time in the late 1980s, the Rolex Submariner, Ref. 168000 is considered a transitional model, built after its predecessor the Rolex Submariner, Ref. 16800, and before the reference 16610.  This particular example was produced circa 1986-87 (9.3m serial), and features the caliber 3035 before Rolex switched over to the 3135.

This Rolex Submariner is in good vintage condition.  The case appears unpolished, with original beveled egdes, but is worn from use.  The dial is very well-preserved, with no major flaws or damage, and the original tritium lume is present in both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow color. The watch is fitted on a 93150 bracelet with 593 endlinks, and has 10 full links with no stretch.
